Prerequisite: able to swim 50 yards (2 lengths of the pool) by themselves
without stopping, standing or walking.
Focus: Athletes in this group focus on learning technique in the 4 legal competitive strokes, starts and turns and having fun. The Pink Group is designed to build on their skills in order
to move up to the Gold Group. This group introduces legal competitive starts, turns and finishes as well as building underwater work. Competition is optional.
Prerequisite: knowledge and ability to swim all 4 competitive strokes legally
and ability to complete a legal start.
Focus: Swimmers in this group are usually at least 10 years old and have completed the
Pink Group skills. This group is focused on fine-tuning all 4 competitive strokes. Competition strategy will be introduced. Participation at swim meets once per month is encouraged
but not mandatory. Team building and goal setting activities will also be a strong focus
in addition to accountability and dedication in a fun-filled environment.
Prerequisite: completion of Gold Group skills and ability to increase levels of intensity and duration of training. Higher levels of competition.
Focus: Athletes in the Junior group are usually at least 13 years old and have completed
the Gold Group skills. This group focuses on training for higher level of competition and
have shown desire, dedication and maturity for more intense training. Competition at
swim meets will be encouraged and expected at least once a month. Participation at swim meets once per month is encouraged but not mandatory. Team building and goal setting activities will continue to be a strong focus. In addition to self-awareness, self-confidence
and recognizing purpose will be emphasized through fun activities.
Prerequisite: completion of Junior Group skills and dedication to compete
and train at the highest senior level.
Focus: Athletes in this group are at least 15 years old and have reached an even higher level
of competitive swimming and training. These swimmers focus on elite levels of competition
for high school season, USA Swimming and aim to continue onto the collegiate level. Swimmers in this group are dedicated to making all practices including morning and
evening workouts to build upon their technique, stroke efficiency, speed, endurance and strength. Physical and mental strength will be challenged in a fun, inspiring and developmental way to improve as athletes and as young adults. Competition is mandatory
for this group. Clear understanding of team and personal goals and strategies for achieving them are discussed with each individual swimmer. Leadership skills, self-confidence and personal discovery will continue to be a strong focus.
